Trex and TimberTech Composite Decking with Hidden Fastener Systems

Composite decking performs well in Southeast Michigan because its cellular or capped construction doesn't absorb water like natural wood. We install the full range of Trex and TimberTech product lines — Transcend, Select, Enhance; AZEK, Pro, Edge — using hidden fastener systems throughout. Clips attach to joist framing between boards, hold each plank at consistent spacing, and allow thermal expansion without surface buckling or gaps widening over Michigan winters.
Hidden fastener systems eliminate screw heads from the walking surface, reduce splitting risk at board ends, and maintain consistent drainage gaps across the full deck. We install on properly spaced joists with solid blocking at all board seams and perimeter edges. Framing spacing follows manufacturer specifications — composite boards are more sensitive to joist spacing than pressure-treated lumber, and undersized framing causes bounce and long-term deflection.
Composite decking doesn't require annual sanding, staining, or sealing. It resists fading, mold, and staining without the maintenance schedule wood demands. We help Metro Detroit homeowners choose the product tier and color that fits their budget and their house's exterior palette, and we install it on framing that's sized correctly for the product.
