Outdoor Kitchen Construction with Gas, Electrical, and Plumbing

An outdoor kitchen project involves three separate utility connections — gas, electrical, and plumbing — and most problems in outdoor kitchen construction come from treating those as someone else's scope. We handle all three as one coordinated project. Gas-rated piping runs from your home's meter to the island for the grill and side burners. GFCI-protected circuits supply the refrigerator, lighting, and outlets. Supply and drain lines extend to the sink.
The island structure is masonry block or steel frame, built on a reinforced concrete pad. Weather-rated stainless steel or polymer cabinetry fits into the island frame with access doors, drawer pulls, and trash pull-outs. Countertop options include granite, quartzite, and sintered porcelain — materials rated for outdoor freeze-thaw exposure. We don't install engineered quartz outdoors; its resin binder degrades under UV and freeze-thaw cycling over time.
Oakland County outdoor kitchen projects go through permit and inspection for each utility connection. We don't hand off the gas line to one sub and the electrical to another and hope the timelines coordinate. Our integrated approach delivers a fully functional outdoor kitchen on completion day — gas proven, electrical inspected, plumbing tested, and countertops set.
