Smart-Home Integration for Digital Shower Controls

A digital shower valve replaces the pressure-balance or thermostatic valve with an electronically controlled mixing system that lets you set an exact water temperature, save user presets, and control multiple outlets — body sprays, overhead rain head, handheld wand — from a touchscreen or app. The practical benefit is that you're not standing outside the shower adjusting temperature by feel while steam fills the bathroom. You set it, it holds it.
We install Kohler DTV+, Moen U, and Delta VoiceIQ systems, which require low-voltage control wiring run from the valve body to the interface panel — that's work that happens during rough-in, not after tile is set. We also wire complementary features that get installed at the same time: mirror defoggers, chromotherapy LED systems in niches or overhead, steam generator controls, and in-shower Bluetooth audio. All components go on dedicated circuits with GFCI protection per Michigan code.
Before we leave a digital shower installation, we program user presets, connect the system to the home Wi-Fi, update firmware, and walk the homeowner through the app and touchscreen controls. Metro Detroit homeowners who've used these systems consistently tell us it's one of the features they notice every single day — the kind of upgrade that changes the feel of a routine rather than just the look of a room.
