Frameless Glass Shower Enclosures with Linear Drain Systems

Frameless glass shower enclosures get measured and fabricated after tile work is complete — not before. Every wall has some degree of out-of-plumb after tile installation, and the glass panels have to be cut to those actual dimensions. We take precise field measurements after tile is done, submit them to our glass partners, and schedule installation once the panels are fabricated to spec. Trying to cut this timeline short by measuring before tile is set leads to gaps, shimming, and poor-looking installations.
We use 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch tempered safety glass with hardware in chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, or satin brass depending on your fixture palette. Every enclosure is installed with laser levels and shimming techniques to achieve panels that are plumb and aligned even when the walls behind them aren't perfectly square — which they rarely are in real construction.
Linear drain systems from Schluter, Infinity Drain, or QuickDrain pair well with frameless enclosures because they allow single-direction floor slope instead of the four-way pitch required by a center drain. That means large-format tiles can be used on the shower floor without the excessive cuts and uneven surfaces that result from sloping a big tile toward a center point. We coordinate the drain placement and floor slope direction with the tile layout plan before any waterproofing or tile work begins.
